Profibus communication

I have PLC (A) 314C DP/PN connected with many instruments through profibus .

We have PLC (B) 313c 2dp   connected with many instruments through profibus .

I want share data between two PLCs (A) & (B)  through profibus network. How this proposal can be without adding any hardware component?

Q1: To my knowledge, you cannot connect 2 Profibus-DP masters without adding some form of hardware.

-If you want to keep master-slave configurations, you would need a DP/DP coupler.

This is a unit with 2 distinct Profibus slave interfaces, that you configure as a slave to each of the masters, on its own bus. The trick is that, inside the coupler, Profibus outputs from Master 1 become inputs to Master 2, and outputs from master 2 become inputs to Master 1. Easy to setup, easy to configure, and no programming is required. However, you are limited to a slave's data exchange, 244 Bytes OUT/IN.

-if you want master-master acyclic exchanges, then you need a CP 342-5 in each DP-Master's PLC rack.

Q2: For your KP1200, you should have WinCC Comfort. It has both Profibus/MPI and Ethernet interfaces.

In the networking tabs you should find the Profibus configuration, and the online help should provide basic settings.

Daniel is right. There is no communication possible over Profibus without additional devices.

You need a DP/DP-coupler or a CP342-5.

See this manual, which open always at first when there is a question of CPU/CPU communication:

on page 132 there is a selection aid for two S7-300 over Profibus.
