Station upload problem!!!

I am facing a problem, and the problem is that the step 7 manager shows me the following message when I try to "Upload station" to the programmimg device, "A connection between your PC or programming device and PLC can not be established!!!". By the way I am using a programming cable with the following order number: 6ES7972-0CA23-0XA0. The cable is the old"COM" type and not the "USB" type, and it is one "short peice" I really need help. I tried to connect but the software gived me the following message: "upload to PG (33:16662) online: the connection to the target module cannot be established". Although I have set the communication with according the entry ID:10420976 "chick list for implementing a PC adapter", but yet the problem still exsits. My question is why? Another question, does this kind of PC adapters needs a configuration software, and if so can you lead to the link to download the configuratiuon software. I do appreciate your support. Tomy the Master.

Eastern Posts: 557 Rating: (64)	hi check the following posibility.... 1) adaptor has three led a) power b) MPI c) com are u getting all led while connecting... if u connect the adaptor to plc or u will not get the power & mpi led it means ur plc port got damage. if you r getting it means plc port ok.... then check the com led which u r getting from ur PG.if u r not getting the com setting --> go to the property of MY Computer-haredware------> device manager then go to simatic manager check the adapther setting ...& try.......& tell the result. no need any aditional software........ regards

There's a dip switch to switch between 19.2 & 38.4. Regards,

Aret Posts: 2348 Rating: (265)	Ok, let's start from another end. 1) Try to see your network in Step7->Display acessible nodes. 2) If you can see it - try open blocks folder online and copy block from it to offline version. 3) if 2 is done without errors - try uploading station. Even if it would be error atleast you can have almost all data uploaded via copy/paste (including SDBs). 4) If 2 is done with errors (you CAN see PLC, but CAN'T look inside) - i'd suggest try similar on another PLC 5) If 1 is done with errors (You can't see node) then ensure you have only 2 nodes. Then in PC/PG interface try Autodect feature. 6) Please ensure baudrate in PLC is not higher then 1,5 Mbits or you won't be able to communicate with it (only with Field PG or CP5611/CP5613)
