I' have a problem with puls counting

Hello!

I' have a problem with puls counting.When the counted value from DB is equal with 65535 the the value from DB is reset to 0 and start counting from here.

I used dint format data for counting value, if i' put a higher value in DB the counting function works ok.

Does anyone know who might be the problem?

It’s because Siemens work with sign bit concept.

I suggest you may transfer int to a Dint to resolve the problem.

For an example say your raw count is in DB1.DBW0

L DB1.DBW0

T MW2 // Byte 2 and 3

L MD 0 // Byte 0,1,2 and 3

// To process further

M05: NOP 0

i1.2 -digital input for puls

DB1.DBD0- counted value Dint format (initial value L#0)
