Read Analog Input Type

Jeebs Posts: 218 Rating: (28)	Hi, Usually the Input type remains whatever was configured in the HW-config. If however for some reason you need to know the configured type in runtime, you can try using SFC 59 "RD_REC". It's been a few years since I last played with that one but I believe you were able to read out all the config data from a specified module using that. If however you need to know the connected input type......well there's no way the PLC will be able to tell you. Hope this helps. Jeebs

startrek Posts: 19 Rating: (0)	Hello Jeebs, My purpose is to use a same function to read an analog input (regardless of hardware configuration). I use FC105 to scale an analog input (4..20mA, 0-10V etc) but if the input is RTD or TC the FC105 does not work because the RAW value of the input channel is already "scaled" to temperature (according to hardware configuration). Can I somehow to read if the configuration is for RTD or TC input ? I will try your solution to see if can read these data. Thanks !!!
