Hello, The Step7 editors use the registers in some cases, for instance when calling blocs and passing parameters between callingbloc and callled bloc. You can use the registers AR1 and AR2, mostly when writing loopsbased uponindirect addressing. In this entry: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/365590 you have some explanations about indirect addressing. There are several methods, one of them is Register indirect addressing with area pointer. You must be cautious when modifying the content of address registers AR1 and AR2 if you want to avoid undesired side-effects. In fact, you have to save them before usage, and restore them afterwards.
