problem with Checksum

I making the program to comunication PLC S7 315 with some device to print the message on the paper. The message is sending via RS232. Example of message is in the attachment. My problem is that is I sending a message then on end of message must be the checksum , but I don't know how calculate it. Aret Posts: 2348 Rating: (265)	Can be CRC (can find on wikipedia for ex.), but generally you have to define protocol from device description and see how checksum is calculated in protocol's specification.

There you find functions for many different CRC - checksum calculations. It is important to kow, what is the exact type of your cheksum. (CRC32, CRC16, IBM16 .... there are a lot of them...)
