CP443-1 TCP Connection problem

Craig Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	I have set up a TCP connection using a CP443-1 card (V2.5) and connected it up to my laptop using hyperterm. The AG_LSEND work fine and data passes from the PLC to the laptop with no problems. However, the AG_LRECV function does not seem to work. With hyperterm not connected 'STATUS' flashes between 8304 and 8181. With hyperterm connected the status stays permanently on 8181 and no data can be received. I have used this set up with a S7-300 plc and had no problems. HELP!!!!!

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Dear Craig, I am not sure but as far as I know does the Status 8181 mean that the Job is active. So if you send something from the PC, in any way, to the PLC, in the adequate Format, it should work. My question would be, have you some tool to monitor the Traffic on the Network, e.g. Ethereal? Craig Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	[:blush:] I've cracked it - I was sending variable length messages and I'd got the RECV length set to 240 Bytes so it always thought there was more data to be recieved. I've set it now to just receive the first part of the telegram then decide how many more bytes there are to receive, it seems to be ok. When I'd done it previously on a S7-300 there was always a fixed length telegram (I'd forgotten that bit!) Many thanks!
