Logic of belt conveyor scale

enunes Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	Hi all! I’m developing an application in a S7-400 for a stacker ore. The stack process needs to change the positioning of the machine whenever a certain mass value be reached. However, there isn’t a scale in stacker. The only scale that the customer has in the process is in a belt conveyor that feeds the belt conveyor of the stacker (I read this variableform another CLP). The material travels 600 meters(375 seconds) until reaching the stacker and the feeding tax is not constant. Then, I need to develop a logic that “realize” that distance to know exactly how much material was piled up by the stacker in the moment. I need ideas of how to develop that logic. Is there some resource in S7-400 that can help myself with this problem? Thanks.

You need some sort of flexible FIFO register, probably with a variable lenght (try to search for FIFO on this forum!) In this FIFO register, you keep track of your weighted quantity through complete lenght of belt and thencalculate your stack at the and of belt. I have had a similar problem solved on such a manner. I have written a small FB (in SCL), with all the necessary logic and equtations for that. In fact, it was a little more complicated, because I have had to merge 2 measured quantities (weight and moisture; measured at different positions of belt!) into 1 quantity and then calculate the stack at the end of belt.....
