Read hardware in program

SRV Posts: 22 Rating: (0)	Hi I want to read the hardware configuration data from the program.Possible to read or write with any function or function block.In case of hardware change I do not want to download the hardware into plc and put it in stop.Is it common to do ? thanks

Aret Posts: 2348 Rating: (265)	What you try to implement is called configuration in run (CiR) as i understood - this is possible, but has it's own limitation. As for initial question - you can read some HW with SFC51/59, but i would say generally you won't be able to create "universal" program for some set of HW configurations.
