How to assign attribute for a DB

I want to assign the attribute (S7_m_c) for the 4th byte of each structure. But it allows me to select the attribute for the whole structure only. Is there any solution for this issue.

Dear Saravana kumar,

this feature seems not to be supported - sorry.

Translation of the article:

Description:
You have a data block variables with the system attribute "S7_m_c" provided use so that they translate to the OS in WinCC and observable. This works for simple variables within the data block, but arrays, structures and UDTs are not reflected in the data storage of WinCC.

Explanation:
The "OS translation" of data blocks not supported within compound data types (such as ARRAY, STRUCT, or user-defined data types - UDT). WinCC does not support any declaration of structures within a structure. A data block is already created in WinCC as a structure - so, no new structure can be defined within the data block.
This situation also applies to the definition of structures within function blocks.

As PCS7 APL Libraries blocks use Structure within the block which you can see in the Instance DB of the APL Blocks. Also the Tags are generated in the WinCC Structure within Structure. While linking that structured tag to the Objects, we have to assign as ****.PV#Value . Meaning that, the Value is defined in the PV Structure , and PV is a part of the Block/IDB.

Jazz_M Posts: 1121 Rating: (86)	Hi Once i had asked the same question, Do not use UDT, You will not be able to set the attributes, Please use In, Out, Inout, parameter only, you can not declare attributes to internal parameters of UDT when called in "In, Out, Inout," even if you have a strucure you will not be able to set attributes for internal parameters, Have fun...

Niranjan Prasad Posts: 691 Rating: (37)	Well I think I am wrong. I thought of the Idea but I couldn't succeed. I was thinking if the Instance DB can be used to create Structured tags in the WinCC then why not the Normal DBs. And here I was wrong. Only the Structured Variables declared in an FB can be used to create the Tags. So I have usedcopy DB blockto copy the data's from the structed DB to normal one and assigned the attributes. Now it is working fine. Thank you for your suggestion.
