314 & 315 MPI comunecation

Essam Posts: 47 Rating: (0)	Deer all i have 2 cu 314- 315 i want to make mpi netwrk btween them iread meny faq. about thes sup but in the medel of the explenation it ask me to configur one of the two cpu as master and the second as slave how can i configur cpu 315 as master is it sum whear in the hardwear configuration. pleas help best regardes Essam Banat

Hi Essam Banat, First off all place the two CPUs on one MPI-network. You can do that in the hardware configuration, when you choose the MPI-port then you may chose also a MPI network. Then go back to the STEP7 manager and choose the MPI-Network in the manager with theleft mouse key by double clicking. Then you came in the MPI Global data field and you can choose on the top row the CPUs, by first choose the hole colom and then with the right mouse key choosing the upper row of the colom you have choosen. [:P] If you have done that for both CPUs then you may place for example MB10 in the first CPU and also MB10 in the 2nd CPU in the row under the CPU-names. If you place this into the CPU's then MB10 will be copied to the other CPU, where the >> are is the send, you may choose that also. If you want to change the updaterate then you have to show the status and datarate, see therefor the menupoints (I have the editor not here). [:blush:]

Calm_down Posts: 324 Rating: (30)	Hi Essam, besides the Global Data Late mentioned you can also use X_PUT or X_GET (S7-Basis-Communication) to read or write Data form the remote PLC CPU. Please be careful that you have the latest CPUs, because old CPUs do not support the S7-Basis-Communication. With this communication you can transfer up to 76 Bytes with one call. If you want read some more in the Manual System and Standardfunctions for S7-300 / S7-400. Best regards Calm_down

Essam Posts: 47 Rating: (0)	hiMr.wizerd , Mr Late , Mr. Calm_downand thanks for your help i have used Mr Lat idia and i comunecat between the tow cpus so thanksalot Late[;)][:D] but i need to monetor eny of the tow CPU's Program wihle i am conecting my PG With any one of them cous i can monetor now only the cpu witch i have my PG conected direct to it but the othr on dosnot upper? Pleas Help [:blush:]

I would seriously doubt that in such a situation the two CPUs exchange Data. Which MPI Address have you set on the two CPUs? Best regards J_Bell

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Dear Essam, to tell you the truth, the only thing I would do in such a situation is guessing. I would disconnect the CPU which you see on the live-list, just to see if the other CPU can be seen. If this is the case just try to select a higher MPI Address for this CPU, e.g. 6 or 7.. or even higher, and try to connect the other CPU again... maybe this will fix the situation.
