As I understand from the manuals, the only way to send something out from the serial port is to use the protocols. Unfortunaly, I also saw that they only work in the graphic way and not in text or full ASCII. Now, my questions are: 1. is it possible that siemens developers have completely forget this feature (or the did not want to include it)? [:mad:] 2. why there is no way to send with a function/command in the scripts a simple ASCII string out of the serial port? [:cry:] 3. what old customers, who have always used text printers or serial dataloggers connected to the panels, can do to solve the problem in the cheapest way? [:(] Of course, if I am wrong and someone of you has found the way to send the worldwide famous "Hello world" via the serial port, I will be happy to share your knowledge. [:xxx:] Bst rgds Pippo
