Dorotal Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hello, I have a question regarding the S_CU block. I stored the CV in a temporarily variable C0_word and defined it as a word type. Now I wanted to compare this value to use it in my program but then I had to convert it first. But there was no convert option from WORD to INT or some like that. So I used the MOVE block to store it into another variable and declared that variable as an INT. Still I was not quiet sure this would work so I thought to look it up on the internet. And I found an example on the siemens site that stored the CV value into MW8 and used the same MW8 in a CMP<=I block to compare. As I looked in to the declaration of this variable it was blank. Now I am a bit puzzled on how this works. I want to use the variable that I read the CV with to be an output to my FC. Thats why the MW8 is not an option for me.

AMAZINGAHMED Gold Member Joined: 8/27/2006 Last visit: 10/22/2024 Posts: 719 Rating: (88)	When you use a variable (e.g. word ) without defining it in the symbol table as word or int, then Step7 uses it as a generic word. You can then use it in the integer comparison and can use it in the counter.
