There is no reason why this should not work, as nesting of case statements is permitted (but is limited to a number of levels). You are only nesting to 2 levels which is definitely permitted. What about it is not working? Is it failing to compile or faling to run correctly? I will be very defiicult to say exactly what is wrong without seeing the code.
