How to read Project path for external use

Is there a way to read the Project path from any of the Step 7 project files? This information: Project path: S7_Pro1\SIMATIC 300 Station\CPU312(1)\S7 Program(1)\Blocks If I used Options -> Manage multilingual files -> Export, I could use the resulting export.txt log file.. it has both the location of the project, and the project path, but this would require the end user to do some manual work. Is this same information available in an easily read location in the project folder? This is taken from export log file and has all the information I require: S7_Pro1 - C:\Program Files (x86)\Siemens\Step7\s7proj\S7_Pro1 Project path: S7_Pro1\SIMATIC 300 Station\CPU312(1)\S7 Program(1)\Blocks

I'm using the link above as the basis of the C# program, but I'm looking for an alternative method to the Copy & paste of the object location. For my purposes, the target block is not always the same, and I'll require easy option for chancing the project. Easiest for the end user, and thus the best option would be to make user select the target project, and read the Project path from some easily available location, if one exists. If this is not possible, the next best thing is to make user select the target project, and then ask the user for the project path. But since the project path is often quite long (for example "S7_Pro1\SIMATIC 300 Station\CPU312(1)\S7 Program(1)\Blocks") this is not practical. It would be better if I could read the project path from fixed point. The multilanguage export log file is one option, but I'm interested to know if there are others.

But if project is not simple, and if there are several PLC:s in the project tree, and they each have multiple communication nodes, each with folder "blocks", things get tricky. The block I want selected could be in any of those. If I used the language export log file, it would have many instances of Project path. I guess I need some more input from the user than I thought at first. Namely, I need the user to tell my C# program the correct program Project path. Unless I can somehow figure out the correct "blocks" folder among many, I don't think this process can be automated after all.

Aret Posts: 2348 Rating: (265)	All projects are stored in folders with name corresponding to project name. Generally Step uses such algo - select all folders, that contain *.s7p file. Each folder is S7 project. Subfolders inside have quite defined structure and you can extract both list of all stations, list of all CPUs used and list of their blocks, though when i tried it on C i failed in extracting one of these interconnections as i remember. I was reading files in DiBase v3+ if that helps
