re-initialisation of DB variables

koenb Silver Member Joined: 6/26/2009 Last visit: 11/27/2024 Posts: 122 Rating: (23)	Hi everyone , I have a question related to DB-variables that are reset to the very first initial value as the DB was created. I use the values as a parameters for the scaling of analog sensors to "real live values" . Let us take a temperature sensor as an example , 4-20 mA = 0-100°C. So I made up a DB with 0.0 and 100.0 as scaling targetvalues. Now they delivered a 0-150°C sensor , so I changed 100.0 by 150.0 in my DB ( online change and new initial value in the offline DB ). Now each time i reload this DB to the CPU the DB comes back with the old initial values. Even when i deleted the DB in the cpu and thereafter download it back to the CPU the old value comes back. What i'm doing wrong ? Can it be avoided or any work-around to be sure that actuel values can be restored after a new download ? Thanks Koenb

fritz Diamond Expert Joined: 10/7/2005 Last visit: 9/17/2025 Posts: 3049 Rating: (1062)	Hello koenb after you entered the new initial value into the offline DB, you need to make them the actual offline values (these arethe ones that get downloaded and then become the actual online values). To do so, change your DB to "data view"(CTRL+4 or via "View"menu)and the use the "Initialize Data Block" function from the "Edit" menu. I hope this helps

We do not prefer that. The method mentioned by Fritz works OK if it is done in the right order. I will start using that and meanwhile thinking of it to something with SFC83 - SFC84. KoenB
