markheuer Posts: 158 Rating: (1)	I have a clean 24VDC supply (Siemens) that we use to source input devices (switches, sensors, etc) used to turn on inputs. However, many of our controls are quite a distance from the PLC, and occasionally I get reports of stray voltages appearing at the inputs (all inputs, all used as digital), turning them on. These are extremely random, unrepeatable signals that are nearly impossible to troubleshoot. The type of cable used between controls and PLC is not in my control, and not installed by us. I've had some luck putting pull-down resistors from each input to 0V, but am looking for a device that I could use that I could just plug in. I've considered a resistor network, but am hoping to avoid the additional soldering, assy., etc. Does Siemens or anyone else make an input module filter mechanism for the LOGO?

realpower_ir Posts: 29 Rating: (0)	Hello Markheuer, As you said, one of the best solution after shieldwires, is pull-down resistor. When all inputs are in High level, how do you set them back? I think it could be a hard-ware malfunction. Is it possible for you to change the LOGO! with a new one? Good Luck

Paulvdbo Posts: 27 Rating: (1)	Put (a) Power Supply Unit(s) close to the sensors etc. Just make sure you have a good connection (1 seperate wire) between each 0V of the distant PSU(s) and the Logo. Use screened cables to transport the data from the sensors to the Logo.Ground the screen ONLY at the side of the Logo PSU. Don't use the screen as part of the transport, but use two wires to transmit the signals. Keep the pull down resistors ! Good luck !
