Simatic Net Configuration Server not running

I would be glad if somebody could help us out in case they have run into the same problem as described below.

We just landed into a problem. We have a server which runs our application (using Visual Studio) and has Simatic.Net. Ituses the OPC to communicate with the PLC. All of a sudden since last 2 days the application is not able to connect to the OPC Server. The same is with the OPC Scout. The error message we get says that the OPC server is not reachable and lists a set of reasons why it wouldn´t ( server installation is not ok, Inproc server is damaged, service is not running etc). But on the station configurator everything is fine. OPCserverda service is running. The only difference I could make out between the other machines on which similar installationsare working, is that the Simatic Net Configuration server is not running. When I tried to start the service , it just stops without any error message.
