You will want to go through the tutorials or getting started helps soon so you can do the fundamental tasks. You must match your plc firmware version to your hardware. If this plc has been sitting around for a couple years, you will want to update the firmware using a Siemens special (meaning expensive) MMC memory card. If it is new, it is probably 2.2 or 3.0. Hello all, After i choose correct firmware CPU then problem solved. I can see folder now. My CPU is 2013 product lines (that is what supplier said) and don't worry about memory card, i just received 24MB card too but prices is. Actually why i seriously find this "add external source file" is i have no idea to add AT instruction in FB stat area. i know SCL in S7. but TIA is totally new for me. anyway thanks again! When you are looking to use the AT overlay, it helps to check youtube for a video of how to do it. I watched it once and never forgot how to use it. AT does not work as well with FCs, so if you need it, use FBs. You can search in these forums as well for the AT overlay on s7-1200s to see others having issues with it when it was first introduced to the s7-1200 product family.

Siemens created a tool to help transition from s7 to tia portal. https://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/llisapi.dll?func=cslib.csinfo&objid=62053296&nodeid4=20229695&caller=view&switchLang Use the tool and try again. It may correct the problems you see. I know it improved my SCL imports from around 10% to 90% first time through.
