This is a question asked frequently ,You can search for previous discussions here , but I suggest using actual controller or advice given here: Pegaia STEP7 V11/V12 cann't simulate directly S7-1200. Workaroud -> copy the software for a S7-1500 (or S7-300 in worst case) and simule it there...

This thing s generating a tough time for beginners using 1200, so i was suggesting 300 for simulation.. Any one know when this going to get ready.....

Siemens made the s7-1200 starter kit very inexpensive so you could get started plus you could download your examples to your starter kit plc and run it live on a real plc. The starter kit even includes digital switch stimulators. That said, I think I heard rumors about V12 SP2, or, never. It is the entry-level device after all.
