S7-1200 Indirect Addressing

I would like to make a program using indirect addressing using S7 1200, but i still confuse to realize it to program because i just still learn about indirect addressing in S7 1200. I have an input in block function. And this input indicate Data Block Number that i would use to store data.So if i fill the input with number 100, it means i will store the data in DB100. DBX... If i fill the input with 101, it means i will store the data in Db100.DBX... etc. So the point is how to make my input (number) be the number of DB that will i use to store my data. Anybody could give me an example for this application? Thank you & Best Regards

Nelliyan randy Posts: 461 Rating: (29)	I will simply do this via move,(can be done in many ways) for ex: ID0( i0.0 to i3.7) move to DBXX.DBD0( dbx0.0 to dbx3.7) .. u can C the individual ip status when u split this dbd to dbx..Hope i am right..The ip status will be updated in the db also... regards, Nelliyan.G

Hotz 70 Posts: 16 Rating: (0)	Dear Nelliyan Randy, My input data will use to change the data block number as my example before, if i fill the input with 100 it means that i will store my data in db100, if i fill the input with 101 it means that i will store my data in db 101 etc. So my input is used to change the data block number, not the specified memory of DB DBX, DBB, DBW,or DBD. Maybe you can give me solution. Thank you

A more generic approach might be to use the poke command (SCL only)from the basic move instruction set. Using the Poke command, you can specify the exact DB #, offset, and length. During development of your code, just be aware you may corrupt your DB, so maybe put a check in the code to read values from the DB before and after just to be sure it executed correctly. Once the code operates as needed, the checks can be commented out.
