drive master Posts: 21 Rating: (0)	Please , what is the difference between siamtic manger and step 7 TIA , which version of simatic manger can install in windows 8 , I have 6 s7 414 h cpu connected to one wincc station .can i use this station to configer all of these cpu,i mean can i open simatic manger and do some modifications

TIA Portal doesn't support all hardware in range of STEP 7.There are some lists for that .Note,S7-400H is not supported by current TIA versions. To change a project, hardware and software, you need to know exact software and additional library used.If the project was developed by PCS 7,you should know the exact version(even more details). Personally, I prefer using STETP 7 and I believe that it is more efficient than current versions of TIA Portal. http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/84047138 Best regards,

Abdalkader Posts: 65 Rating: (5)	i think it's almost The same for most of things but some siemens parts like S7-1200 PLC's , Comfort HMI panel will not work with Step 7 v5.5 as an example then TIA Portal is your solution
