Excel formula to SCL

adrian_botez Posts: 185 Rating: (9)	Hello experts. I am trying to translate an Excel formula to SCL in Tia Portal V13 but it seems it doesn´t work. The formula to be translated is: =IF(E17<PI()C5;15/8(C4-C6)/(E17-C6/C12)-7/8360/PI()/C5;360/PI()/C5) I have it done in this way: if ( E17 < 3.14 C5) then resultado := (15/8) * ((C4 - C6) / (E17 - (C6/C12))) - (7/8) * ((360/3.14)/C5); else resultado := (360/3.14)/C5; end_if; Is that correct?

Adrian, I do not see much issue in the formula. (why did you not publish this with the original question?). Remember to have ":=" with the assignment. I recommend for you to convert all INT values to DINT and then to REAL. Work throughout with REAL. Where you have used constant values like "5", rather use "5.0" to show REAL value. The answer that comes out, you decide if you want to keep it REAL, or do you wish to convert back to (DINT first) INT. w

William_B Posts: 5225 Rating: (1204)	Late note.. You could have done the same in LADDER using the CALCULATE function. There remember the constants are also declared as inputs to the block. But in your case the SCL will work more easy.

adrian_botez Posts: 185 Rating: (9)	This is a sort of a calculation of a moving object trough a conveyor. This is only a part of the formula, but this one is the only that doesn´t work . I doesn´t have nothing to do with the encoder RPM calculation.
