Reading out I&M data from CPU doesn't work on S7-1511-1 PN

Jorsal Posts: 74 Rating: (31)	Hi, I have tried to read out identification data from the user program using RDREC on the new S7-1500, but it doesn't work, i don't get a VALID bit or a LENGTH > 0 from the system call. I have tried with ID=50 and ID=54, (last one as given as example in S7-1500 System Manual (A5E03461182-01) on page 111-113), According to PLC Tags/System Constants: PLC_1[Exec] Hw_SubModule 52 PLC_1 Hw_SubModule 50 PLC_1[MC] Hw_SubModule 51 PLC_1[Display] Hw_SubModule54 ID=50 should be the CPU. and ID=54 should be the Display. 52 doesn't give me anything either. The only ID that gives any result, is ID=51, which is the memory card, which read out correctly. I have tried the same function on a S7-1200, and here I am able to read out both the CPU and MC data. Tested PLC: S7-1511-1PN with firmware version 1.0.1, Hardware version 2,6ES7 511-1AK00-0AB0

Jorsal Posts: 74 Rating: (31)	I have just tested with the same CPU and display, both upgraded to firmware V1.1, which was released yesterday: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/75913484 (Please note to be able to download, you need to switch the web page to German to get the download links, as the English page is empty) I still get the exact same behaviour. I am only able to read out I&M data from the memory card, not from the CPU or Display. With ID=50 it does in fact report Valid, but the length of the read out record is zero, and nothing is read out. Update: While writing this post, I just by accident tried with ID=49, and here I am able to read out the I&M data for the CPU (only index=AFF0 works).

Jorsal Posts: 74 Rating: (31)	No I didn't, until now. Thanks for informing about this new feature. I just tried it, and yes, it works to read I&M data from CPU, memory card and display. Unfortunately it is not supported on S7-1200, as I would like to use a common solution on both platforms.

I have the exact same behavior as you did, i.e. the memory card information is retrieved correctly but not the CPU information. It looks like I will have to tryGet_IM_Data.
