Carl1000 Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hi, I wish to update our little building management system with a logo. All over the building there are temperature measurements Ni1000 (QAA24 Siemens, 2 wire system), these can't be replaced. Does anybody have experience with this type of sensor? how to wire on the AM2 module and how to connect to the analog inputs of the logo module? and how the signal behaves? because when i connect this to 10V, the input (measured value) only varies with very small increment (2 to 5 digits) overa temperature reachof 20 degrees. (I believe this is not normal) thanks in advance Carl

190B Posts: 2347 Rating: (385)	Hello, you can't connect a LG NI-1000 directly to the AM2 module. These require a transmitter which converts the resistance value of the LG NI-1000 on a 0-10V or 0 / 4-20mA Signal.

You have an Landis&Gyr Q.. Ni1000 element, thans not quit similair to the PT1000, but you can directly connect it to the AM2-RTD extensionunit. You make a mistake, when its 100 degrees Centigrate you wil see abou 60 degrees in The LOGO. To use an aritmical Block and an Analog Amplifier Block in the LOGO programming you can adjust the themperature so you get the real temperatuur. Notice tje handbook (manual) of the extensionunit and look for the max temp with PT1000, and translate it to the NI1000 and see if its useful for you. In the manual you can als see how to connect it. Mostly PT1000 an Ni 1000 sensors are used as a 2 wire sensor, but if you wishes, you can connect it also with 3 wires. Look in the Manual, its free at the Siemens site. It works not exact, the characters of the both sensors are different.
