Foty Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Hello, Could I use a Digital output to drive an inductive load? Presently I'm using relay output cards and I would like to know if I could use digital output cards to drive a hydraulic valve in 24 vdc that the cusumption is 1.25 A. Without adding anything. Thank you

In IK PI Catalog (www.siemens.com/simatic/printmaterial chapter6), you can see the switching frequency for resistive and inductive loads.

Foty Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	To add to my question, I would like know if I should protect my output relay cards with diods, and do the same for the digital output card. I have been told that I would need to put some, but nowhere is it indicated in the pdf. Thank you

McMurphy Posts: 39 Rating: (4)	Hi Foty, it will be recommendable to protect your output relay cards with diods, but for your digital output card it is not necessary, because of the internal protection. Even if your special application or equipment requires a highest safety, you can also protect your digital output card. Kind regards
