S7-200 save data to Eeprom

So, recently I uploaded program from working S7-200 and I have a couple question: please look at the picture below: In network 4 there is M0.0 normal open contact. I see there only M0.0 Reset instruction. There is no Set. How does it work? On the right you have cross-reference for this program and M0.0. exist only twice in this program. During uploading I got message taht everything was OK - So I think I uploaded all, but when I see this M0.0 I doubt. In Program block I have also SBR0 and INT0, but they are empty no networks inside. How I can check if I uploaded all? When I upload program - I copy it from EEprom or RAM memory? - if from eeprom, maybe some part of program isn't transfered, because Eeprom is going bad. Maybe M0.0 is some internal flag? Another problem below: Eeprom in this S7-200 CPU 212 will be dead soon. Now after some time at least 24 hours when program from RAM has gone we have problem to start controller. We get message on TD200 - Eeprom failure. We make power ON and OFF many times and finally it starts. We will purchase new PLC, but I want to change program little bit. Now it puts VW data to Eeprom very often - this a reason why The EePROM getting bad - I guess I would like to write network - I want to put power supply signal to one input and if I switch Power On to Off I check diferrentiate down and in this case I save VW to Eeprom. It is my idea, but problem is - that in the same moment I switch power off from PLC so it stops working - I am not sure if I can arrange my idea like that - maybe you have better solution. The idea is to save working parameters just once before the RAM will be cleared. Now I have CPU 212 without battery. I know this model is discontinued - I'll buy new one - maybe there is battery and RAM will not be reseted Thanks for help Pawel Attachment M0.gif (434 Downloads)

I dont believe that. you are right with your fiction, M0.0 must be set someway! Maybe there is a command concerning MB0, MW0, MD0? Is there any access from a HMI device to this flag? maybe from your TD200??? M0.0 is no systemflag if you mean this. Systemflags are marked with SM-prefix. Issue SBR0 INT0--> Those Network AND Main(OB1) are created each time you open a new project with STEP 7-Micro/WIN. Issue eeprom--> When you upload a program from CPU it comes from RAM. When you talking about eeprom you mean memory cartridge or remanent block buffered by a capacitor in the cpu? i guess memory cartridge .... Maybe in your case a Battery module would be better. Then you can declare in the "System block" what blocks should be remanent. I think this is in this case of writing data very frequently the better way. Futhermore there is no need to compare anything if its different to a earlier date. regards Lifrasil

Now I guess that if I go to Stop mode and I upload data block it will look much nicer - correct? When I look at original program there is only instruction to move data to VB area. Propably it means that it will be there as long as capacitor has a power - how long usually it keep data? I did not find in program any block from library "StoreToEprom" - so the datas had not been written to EEprom. If it is the true why the PLC has a problem to start-up after cleared RAM. TD200 shows message EEprom failure. Is it normal that after some time EEprom goes bad. I have no idea how old is this PLC CPU212 - maybe 10 years., but noone maintained this - so the Eeprom just worked when the operator started machine when RAM was empty. Strange.
