Bytes to DWord

Hi Guys,

You've already helped me lots with all your posts and examples. I'm trying to get into S7-1200 programming.

I wanted to convert a string IP address into HEX (for TMMAIL) and I need to fill the DWord with the bytes.

I can do it using Markers and overwriting the addresses, basically using MB10 to MB13 for the octets and then using MD10 for TMMail.

Now I wanted to try that in a Function and of course I can't use that method where I have to reserve Markers. Can anybody point me in the right direction with FUP?

I tried various MOVE commands but either they were not allowed or they just overwrite the whole DWord. I can also get the bytes in an array but do I get them from the array out to a DWord?

Any help would be much appreciated.

The S7-1200 you say?
Then maybe have a look at: [LINK]

Basically you can work with..
#MyDWORD.%B0
#MyDWORD.%B1
#MyDWORD.%B2
#MyDWORD.%B3

Just take care of the order.. which is explained in the FAQs linked in the link given above.

The method is called "slicing".
