How to access a string defined in a db.

L B#16#0 // 0 T "SEND_SRC_DB_SI_0".SEND_TEXT[2] L B#16#5A // Z T "SEND_SRC_DB_SI_0".SEND_TEXT[3] L B#16#D // CarrigeReturn T "SEND_SRC_DB_SI_0".SEND_TEXT[4] But I would like to assign it something like this without the index for each position.. L '0Z' // complete string without CR T "SEND_SRC_DB_SI_0".SEND_TEXT Is it possible?

PeteB Posts: 16 Rating: (2)	Pex, I'm afraid the L (Load) command cannot be used on a STRING. What you could do is read in the STRING and use one of the IEC String functions from Step7 ("Standard Library" --> "IEC Function Blocks") to edit the original STRING and then create a new STRING. You could possibly used "DELETE", "RIGHT" or "LEFT to extract the relevant parts of the STRING. It all depends on whether your STRING is always the same length, whether you want to modify different parts of the STRING in different conditions etc.
