Changing TD200 password from the PLC program

I know the password set from the TD conficuration wizard is stored in word 15 of the TD configuration data block. But even if I change the value in word 15 from the PLC program, it seems to get back to the original password somehow.I am using a -\|P\|- instruction while writing to word 15. Should I be writing continuously instead? Is there a better way of doing this? I was, however, able to turn the password protection on and off by changing the value in byte 3of the TD configuration data block to 0 and 1 respectively. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have used the Text Display Wizard to create my TD configuration so the TD_Data block is write protected. The entries in it cannot be erased. Is there a way of erasing it? Thanks and regards.

Thereafter even if the values in the block change, it has not effect on the operation of the TD200. I removed the password dataword from the TD_DATA block to prevent the old password from getting transferred to the TD200 during startup. To apply the new password, all I have to do is restart the TD200 after changing the password and the new password becomes effective. Many thanks for your help. Ciao.
