TM Count: PLC program disable "at comparison value 0 for a pulse duration"

Hi there,

I have a TM count 1x24V module running on a 1512SP CPU.

We use the Output function “at comparison value 0 for a pulse duration” See attachment.

We are using this to Trigger some Servo drives to start positioning.

Now the Operator needs to be able to select an external trigger sensor instead of the encoder position. (indeed less accurate)

So I would like to know how I can disable the Output function “at comparison value 0 for a pulse duration” by the PLC program.

I could of course use a relay that prevents the servos from being triggered by the TM count output. But I prefer to do this in the software.

Also I could continuous set the comparison value always 1000 increment before the actual value, but I assume there would be a better way.

Have a look to p51 of the manual

Seems that you can configure the module from the program, by writing to data record 128 of the module. Is described in the Annex B.

What I do not know is how the module behaves when you reconfigure it that way.
Are the counted pulses lost, do you have to home, etc ...

May be an expert can tell us.

So be cautious if you try this.
