How to connect a dp/dp coupler to IM308B

Late Platinum Member Joined: 1/7/2006 Last visit: 5/11/2025 Posts: 2705 Rating: (321)	Hi, I'm afraid that it will not work, a IM308B have SINEC L2 DP and that is not the same as Profibus DP... So you have to place a extra IM308C for that coupling, then you could the IM308C be slave and you didn't need the DP/DP-coupler.

You can find it here: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/113602 One of the problems could be that the current coupler is a DPV1_slave. And the IM308B only supports DPV0. Also the syntax of GSDs have evolved in the time. Therefore I would try to open the GSD in the tool used with IM308B (Com ET200 at that time). Just to know if the syntax is accepted. I hope this helps
