CP5412 A2 FMS Connection

I have a S7-400 plc running with a CP-443 Basic card installed communicating over profibus to a SCADA system with a CP5412 A2 card. Currently the SCADA system has a version of step 7 installed of V5.1 and runs faultlessly for now!! My issue is if I archive the currently working program then load it onto a PG with V5.5 or above I get an error in net-pro telling me the FMS connection is not available with the CP5412 A2. I know it is but i'm sure the problem is with the version of Step 7 that is an issue. Any help would be appreciated. Chris

The drivers for the CP 5412 A2 can run on Windows 3.0, Win 95, Win NT4.0. It uses an ISA connector, ont available on newer Pcs. The Simatic Net software for FMS also were limited to Win98 and NT 4.0. See the following document and the screenshot below, about requirements for the CP 5412 A2.: https://www.itk.ntnu.no/fag/TTK4175/Lab/Profibus/Profiman1.pdf On the other hand, here are the system requirements for Step 7 v5.5: *System requirements* Supported operating systems: MS Windows XP Professional SP2 or SP3 MS Windows Server 2003 SP2 / R2 SP2 Standard Edition as workstation MS Windows 7 32 Bit Ultimate, Professional and Enterprise (Standard Installation). The Windows XP mode under Windows 7 is not release yet. https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/44370501 How is your PG setup for FMS communication? Does it have the standard CP 5611 chip for Profibus, or is there an additional CP for FMS connections (it requires an additional Simatic Net driver in that case). AutoGen_916067 Member Joined: 4/28/2015 Last visit: 7/19/2024 Posts: 8 Rating: (0)	the PG I have tried are both siemens laptops one has simatic step 7 professional 2017 V5.6 the other has step 7 v5.5 sp5. over the last day I have installed step7 v5.1 sp3 onto an xp system to see what the fms connection looks like in net pro this looks the same as v5.5 or v5.6. please see attached my main question is do you think if the processor in my rack loses the complete program and hardware config would I be able to download the config and connections to the cpu while it is showing these errors? chris Attachment FMS.jpg (123 Downloads)
