Hi, I'm trying to create a logic in STL to integrate flow samples taken for a period of time . I was reading up on How can you add together physical flow measurements, would it be correct in saying the above link just adds what ever is being sampled. so for my application I want to take 1second samples for 10 seconds then integrated that value, then shift everything 1 space front and repeat. Is there a FAQ out there that I can read up on. Is this correct practice for reading in flow, Any help in the right direction would be helpful |

Hi, I do not know if there is any FAQ regarding your issue, but according your description it is not so difficult to prepare it without FAQ :) Regards, Jiri |

Hi So I found this FAQ How is numerical integration . I'm working on Step 7, this program basically works on the formula given, In FB1 ,NW3 , on the line 8 theres a : L #integral +R Wouldn't that be incorrect, according to the Formula given, That would just be adding everything that is being sampled. |

Hello Red John; The FAQ below shows you how to integrate, or "totalize" flow measuremtns (liters, for example) in order to reach a value of liters per minute (also for example); in other words, you transform the instantaneous measurement values to a flow rate. The basic principle involves adding the regular measurements (as you are doing it now, but in engineering units) during a known time period, retaining this totalized value, and stating the operation anew. How can you add together physical flow measurements (mass flow rate, for example) to a total value in STEP 7 V5.x? https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/23061633 This sample program is designed for Step 7 v5.x, since this is the conference you chose. There are similar examples available for TIA Portal: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/au/en/view/48799854 https://support.industry.siemens.com/tf/WW/en/view/142546 Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
