 If you want a string of a specified size instead of the default size of 254 then define the string with:-

MyStr : STRING[n], where n is an interger from 1 to 254.

To move characters to the string you can do this is a number of ways:-

MyStr := Str; (where both are string types)

To add one string to another you use the CONCAT function, to delete characters from a string use the DELETE function, to insert characters into a string use the INSERT function.

String types in S7 are not NULL terminated like 'c' style strings. They instead have 2 "hidden" characters that precede the string data. The first hidden character is the maximum size of the string, which will be 'n' in the example above and the second hidden character is the actual length of the string (i.e. the number of stored characters).

So the string definition MyStr : STRING[10] := "abcd" would contain the ASCII codes:-

10, 04, 97,98,99,100

As for your "LLO" problem it ios probably related to the 2 hidden character issue. What is you code line that copies the string as part of you T_RCV?

That said, it looks like if you open your "Printer_Data" (DB I am assuming), you will not find "Code3" as a primary tag.
