Peripheral Memory

Morning,

I have been asked to add a Bar code scanner to an existing system, after trying this one time and realizing that it would not work due to the memory of the PLC being exceeded somebody suggested I use a peripheral memory (which did work) however I just wanted to check if their are any implications to me using this?

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Read this entry about peripheral addressing but the most important thing, i guess, is the fact that when you address a peripheral memory you get the actual value of it from the module, it takes more time to read or write because it doesn't write on the system memory which contains the Process Image.

very important info missing, what type of connection you want to do with that scanner. Your question point to PB/PN probably...
