Sam. Posts: 63 Rating: (0)	Dear All, I am using S7-400H station with ET200M IOs. (Simatic Manager v5.4 and WinCC v7.0 -Di module used is 6ES7-321-7BH01-0AB0 which supports time stamp feature. my requirement is :- I need to get the time stamp(i.e. of PLC) of all DI events (high to low and low to high) and display in WinCC. - (becuase mostly digital inputs are critical).... need to configure time stamped messsages from PLC to WinCC..... ? please help me to get this done....... best regards,

Bang_Kee Posts: 19 Rating: (1)	Hi Sam, CMIIW, I kinda get the impression that the module you mentioned does not have time stamp capability. But it does have hardware interrupt feature. It will activate OB40, and OB40 have parameter called OB40_DATE_TIME. You need to move that data first to another location so that you can view it from HMI.

Request you to elaborate the use of OB40 & its properties. (please take a note that - I am not loking for interrupts, but instead every status change that happens for digital input with module time stamp) See likewise I have a lot of modules to collect DATA. waiting for reply. Hope experts can contribute too. Thanks a ton in advance.

mmckay Posts: 247 Rating: (65)	How precise does the timestamp have to be? If you need resolution smaller than a PLC scan, then the interrupt module and OB40 is a good strategy. If you can live with a resolution of 1 PLC scan, then an alternate approach would be to use PDiag or AlarmS, which attach PLC-generated timestamps to alarms. You could then either use an Alarm control to display the information in WinCC, or query the info from the alarm logging database. Regards, Murray

Regards, Murray Hello Murray, Thank you for reply. I need to attach PLC generated timestamps with input signals to Alarms.... I believe PDiag needs external license, correct me if I am wrong.... Can you explain "AlarmS" method ? Does it need additional license also... Thanks in advance.
