mohitkataria012 Posts: 30 Rating: (1)	Dear experts, As i am new to STL programming I am facing problem with the code below OPN DB 103 A M [DBD 140] = M 206.0 A M [DBD 384] = M 206.2 OPN DB 104 A M [DBD 20] = M 206.1 what i understood from the code above is that 1) open db 103 2) Load the value of db103.dbd140 in the memory bit. Let say value of dbd140 is 10.0 3) Now if M10.0 is high then it will make M 206.0 high. Am i right?? Best Regards Mohit_kataria

Piotr.M Platinum Expert Joined: 6/24/2013 Last visit: 11/14/2025 Posts: 1696 Rating: (433)	OPN DB 103 // Open DB103 A M [DBD 140] // And Memory Bit addressed by value stored in DBD140 = M 206.0 // M206.0:=M addressed by value in DBD140 (note: value is count in bits i.e. decimal 87 = M8.7) A M [DBD 384] // Saa but use DBD384 for address and move result to M206.2 = M 206.2 OPN DB 104 // Open DB104 A M [DBD 20] = M 206.1 // M206.1 = M[DBD 20] EXAMPLE for first A M [DBD 140] // Let's say DBD140 = 1234. it points to M154.2 (154=1234/8; 2=remainder for the above) = M 206.0 // M206.0:=M154.2 // note: 154.2 is dynamic i.e. changes in Runtime BTW to calculate pointer to int/dint/real/byte/... multiply your address by 8 (SLD 3 == shift left by 3 bits) because last 3 bits are for bit address which changes from 0 to 7.
