Cannot SET bit in FC or FB, Cannot use local INT

alindsay81 Posts: 38 Rating: (0)	Im very confused. I wrote 16 lines of code and rather than copy it 12 times i created an FC that i could call 12 times. The original code worked 100% When i had created the FC and began to test it the local bits wouldnt SET I also wanted to count, so i have #COUNT1 = #COUNT1 + 1 using ADD_I, i also moved 0 into #COUNT1 but when testing #COUNT1 would have some strange number in it like 348 I then moved the code to an FB to give it its own instance DB - but the problem remained While testing there was only 1 instance of the block in in the PLC - I had not copied it 12 times yet! Can anyone suggest why i cannot use local INT's and why i cannot SET local BOOL's ? STEP7 V 5.4 CPU - 315-2DP

Thijs Posts: 121 Rating: (16)	Are you using the L# stack area for counting? (TEMP erea) This area isn't cleared with the call off a FC or FB. Try to use the IN/OUT area in a FC to memorise the count value or the STAT area in a FB

alindsay81 Posts: 38 Rating: (0)	Thijs, Yes i was using the L# stack / TEMP area - I have now moved all my "TEMP" bits into "STAT" and the program is working as expected! Thankyou!
