step 7-300 online-offline

Hello,

When my offline program is different than the program on the PLC and I go online with step 7, Is there no risk of overwriting the program in the PLC if they are different ?

I tell just go online without make any change.

If some blocks are different then you must control why they are different.

We can not say overwrite they in the PLC, why we don't know, what are the differences and why.

If you don't download anything, nothing will happen.

But if you want to see where are the differences before going online, select whole blocks and use "Compare Blocks" from Options in file menu.

I used to do the compare Blocks, I was wondering if I was going online without doing this and that there are differences in some blocks. I'm not going to overwrite what's on the PLC ?

 If you try to go online in block editor and there is a difference between online and offline, it will pop a message and ask you to download. Be careful! If you click on yes, it will overwrite the online block. 

In the Simatic manager there are two icons in the toolbar, "Offline" and "Online".

So you can see both blocks.

Always read the messages carefully that pops.
