Compilation not possible. The current user does not belong to the "SIMATIC HMI" group.

Hi

My TIA Portal was working fine just until yesterday when after a computer crash, compiling any HMI device even on single project and only a single screen would give me a vague error suggesting that, 'my user does not belong to the "SIMATIC HMI" group.' Even after I manually added my User to HMI group in my local users, it wasn't fixed. I restarted my PC, recreated a same project, added myself to the rest of groups containing the word 'SIMATIC' or 'HMI', and still I get the same error.

The project I was designing before that catastrophic crash was an HMI with a single screen trying to be controlled with a PLC. What I was doing is that, I tried to tag the HMI with the output of the PLC. Now every time I try to tag an HMI object it keeps crashing, hands down.

My TIA version is 13. And my PC runs with a 64 bit Windows 7 Ultimate. And again, this problem didn't use to occur; maybe some form of recovery would fix my problem.

What is your TiaPortal Version?

The error won't pop up anything, it just stays there when I click it.

It keeps crashing now, and I can't get to the same error now. Even an empty screen HMI Professional RT (PC station) screen would not simulate at all now...saying 'Failed to start simulation' :(

Firstly you have to repair it from the setup of the Tia Portal it self 

Secondly you have to Update it to Step7 Pro V13 SP UPD8

I found same problem .

Compilation not possible . the current user does not belong to somatic tag group

I have the same problem. I have added my pc user to the SIMATIC HMI GROUP in windows (Computer Management > Local Users and Groups > Groups) but when I try to compile my project I still get the error: "Compilation not possible. The current user does not belong to the "SIMATIC HMI" group." I also added Administrator user to the SIMATIC HMI GROUP and ran TIA Portal as administrator and still no luck. 

Anyone have any other ideas why this isn't working? 

Windows 10; TIA Portal V16. I upgraded the project from V15.1 to V16.

After adding your user to SIMATIC_HMI, did you log out of WIndows then log back in? 

Windows takes a flash-view of your group membership when you log in - it doesn't recognize changes to your group membership until you log out then back in again.
