How to abort pulse output to Q0.0 with user input

Hello I am recently learning how to start/stop a stepper motor with microstep driver as well as forward/reverse direction

But i encountered a problem when sending a pulse signal to the PTO using pulse output instruction
however it need to complete the cycle that is given for it to stop

i tried stopping the motor but the S7 200 won't stop pulsing until the cycle is complete

preventing other user input

i want to learn how to abort an ongoing pulse duty cycle so i can stop the motor with a button

I am using a stepper motor
and it needs pulses to rotate

the pulse value is the number of pulses that is sent to the microstep driver to rotate the motor
i used PTO to send this pulses

now i can use an input to stop the stepper from rotating
but plc still keeps pulsing, i found out that the stepper motor needs to finish the number of pulse given from the pulse value (that's what i meant for a full cycle) for it to stop
this is a problem
since i can't give any another input command to the plc if the q0.0 out keeps pulsing
i need a way to somehow abort that with a button push

U can try use the SM66.7 (PLS0_Enable) to disable the PLS?
(hint: use the build in help in MicroWin for more info)

I recommend you try use the PTO/PWM wizard to run your stepper.

This wizard will creating subroutines for you to work with. It contains the direct stop input you want.

I tried making a PTO_Ctrl and PT0_man 

But i have no idea how to work with the function block

There is not much difficult using the wizard.

* Select the output. ie Q0.0
* Select PTO and select "use high speed counter" if you want step pulses to be counted.
* Use for example min speed 50  and max speed 10000 (pulses er second)
* use at ACCEL_TIME and DEACCEL_TIME 1000ms
* no profiles
* select a address range (default = VB0)
* save wizard settings

* give subroutine some inputs and outputs. See attachment.

Please use V or M memory on the outputs of the subroutines and don't duplicate.
SM are special registers

If this is not working, please provide the compile error for us to help you.

Double click on the error you will pointed to the error in your program.
U might need to write a value in to MD20 or use a direct value.

There is no error in the compiler anymore but it still couldn't stop the stepper motor with the PTO_ctrl

I_stop or D_stop wont work

What instructions should I use PTOx_ctrl and PTOx_man with? there is no  output to the q0.0

As mentioned before. Please don't duplicate addresses. It's called overlapping addresses.
This will brick your program. In your case it did.

I wired quickly a stepper to a PLC as proof of concept and it's working just fine.
See the example below.

(SM0.7 -> This bit reflects the position of the Mode switch (off is TERM position, and on is RUN position).

Per default the wizard will assign VB0 to VB25 in the PTO wizard.
You also used VB0 (Error) in both _CTRL and _MAN subroutines.
VB0 is used in the wizard to identify the start byte. 'PTOA'

While I'm at it to debunk you situation, as a test I changed VB0  to 0 and voila both subroutines will give an 127 error and its not working anymore.

This error means according to the manual:
"An ENO error was encountered. Check PLC information for description on non-fatal error"

And indeed. If you check the PLC information you see a "Illegal PTO Profile" error

Also the SF LED will lite up. This is also visible you your example.

TLDR:
Assign unique address to each subroutine and try again.
