selection of over voltage protection when DCM use as field supply unit

Mehta Posts: 80 Rating: (7)	Dear All, I am going to use 6RA8013-6DV62-0AA0 as a field supply unit for below rated motor. Motor: KW: 52, Speed: 1450 Arm:400V/148A Field Volt: 110V/220V Field Curr : 11.2/5.6A In application note Over voltage protection is given. I want to use MOV protection method with damping resistor. can anybody help to select rating of component for Over voltage protection? Regards Ashish

With the main DC drive, the rated field capacity is available. Is it retrofitting job? Does your motor runs in field weakning mode? Please find attached here with data sheet of6RA70Dc drive of rated DC armature amp of 210 A, where in Max field voltage available is 325 Volt with max 15 A. Please check. Mehta Posts: 80 Rating: (7)	Yes it is retrofitting.Armature of motor is controlled by some other make drive. I also want to make field weakening.
