Trying to install ABB Drive function FB500 in TIA v12

BLimaM4I Bronze Member Joined: 6/12/2012 Last visit: 6/25/2025 Posts: 165 Rating: (7)	Hello, I have a application where I have 3 drives ABB ACS500 to control by a S7-300 CPU. I have tried to import the FB500 but I can not find it in TIA v12. How can I import this FB? I have downloaded the zip file from ABB but I can not import the function to TIA. In IBH Softec S7 for windows I can see the FB but not on TIA. I have tried to import it has a library but the folder was empty.

So you must migrate this project to tia before you can copy the FB within TIA Portal. Have you a link to this zip File? On the ABB site i can't find a download. Regards Christoph

On the attached photo you will see the PZD configuration words on the drive configuration tool of TIA. I could put where, in decimal format, the bits commands of my 16bits control word of my drive, in failsafe PZD1. In failsafe PZD2 the reference word would go here. Correct? I could write dirrectlly to input word 274 (Input adress starts at 272) and would have the same result that writing to PZD2. Correct? If I leave empty this values, I can change them in my code. Correct? On the basic panel of my drive I have to define what are the values, like current, power, etc. that I want to send back to the PLC by profibus. In FC501 I would receive the data and pass it to a DB of my choise. Correct? Attachment TIA v12.JPG (865 Downloads)

I want to give a start command to the drive. Is this configuration correct when I send it by PROFIBUS? The tags of the PZD words of the drive are correct? Thanks. The drive switches on when all enables are set to trueand bit 0 changes to true. When the enables and bit 0 are changing together to true it will not start! (This is the way the SINAMICS work, but I assume this is generally defined for PROFIBUS/PROFINET)

For the Migration of a classic Step7 project you need TIA Step7 Professional (supports the S7-300 from the classic Step7). Then you select the S7P file from the classic project and start the migration. Regards Christoph
