External access to IE Databus

Hi guys, 

I'm considering to implement an API to manage an asset structure inside WinCC Unified. There's a couple of steps to achieve that result and now I'm stuck in one of them, which consists in writing data to IE Databus externally. 

Meaning, I'm trying to write data from my local node-red to IE Databus MQTT Broker but with no sucess (image attached). Probably is some kind of addressing problem. Could anyone give a hand?

the ie-databus MQTT Broker is only edge device internaly accessable. In case that you want to connect an external MQTT client to the edge device you can use the "External Databus". This connector allows you to connect your local nodered to your Edge Device and writes the data to the edge internal databus "ie-databus".

I followed your orientation and tried to use External Databus app, but I couldn't get connected to its MQTT broker. I recorded a video so it gets simple to explain. Do you notice anything wrong? Thanks!

I figured out something, if using External Databus and Flow Creator use following connection string

mqtt://ie-mqtt-connector:9883

I'm still working to find the final solution.

Well,

First, you you want to access it using an external MQTT Client to publish. Go to External Databus Configuration:

User View:

1) add user and password;

2) in topic select yours Databus previously configured

Certificate:

1) if you using Unsecured connection select this option

Bridge Configuration:

1) Create bridge between External Databus and Databus

Deploy everything.

To test with flow creator:

use mqtt://ie-mqtt-connector:9883 

To test with MQTT Explorer:

use mqtt://your-ip-address:9883

Edge Management » Data connections » External Databus

1. Add and User with Password, ex: user: external, psd: external
2. Add new topic, ex: ExternalDB/#

Deploy configuration to IED.

Go to flow-creator.

Add a new mqtt broker and use following connection string

Enter user and password, ex: external / external

To test connection with MQTTX

Use yours device IP address and port 9883

If connection is stablished you can use MQTTX to send payload.

With flow-creator you may get payload.
