Sergio G Posts: 8 Rating: (0)	Hi, Is it possible to send an e-mail triggered by an event using regular WinCC?? I've seen the WinCC Option>>Data Monitor is capable of doing so. But it is intended to do more than this. Is there another way for doing this using the basic WinCC? (By instance a script) Cheers

Sergio G Posts: 8 Rating: (0)	Hi, I'm using Data Monitor to sendemails through WinCC. I can generate the reports but they are not sent through e-mail. I wonder if I am missing some settings either in Data Monitor or Windows related to SMTP. I'm trying to use the GMAIL server name: *smtp.gmail.com* Also I'm using the Data Monitor in demo mode to test if this is possible ¿would this blocking the email function? They are stored in the project folder inside either >>WebNavigator>>_private folder or >>WebNavigator>>_public folder depending on the user chosen. Is this what you mean efka? One thing to mention is that I've also configured outlook express to connect to the gmail account and it works fine. That shows me thatgmail's smtp can be reached. Any advice? Thanks

efka Posts: 799 Rating: (43)	Normally you have to choose exactly the same settings for the datamonitor as for your outlook account. Normally this should work. I know, that we also had problem with the gmail account in the past, sometimes it workes and sometimes not. I would recomment you to try it with any other provider (hotmail or web.de). We've also done this and it worked without any problems here. Important is, that the e-mail address of the receiver (in print jobs or excel workbooks)and the e-mail address of the sender (in settings) are the same. Hope this brings you closer to a solution. Sergio G Posts: 8 Rating: (0)	Hello efka Still trying to send an e-mail using WinCC. I've been trying two different options 1. Using DataMonitor I've been told to try with a freeware 'OfficeMail'. Here you can create users and thereforeI am able to send e-mails with the report attached. I can see the results using outlook express and I receive the e-mail with the report attached (all in the same PC) My goal is to be able to send the e-mails through the internet to a public e-mail account (i.e. gmail, hotmail, yahoo mail). So, whenever Idon't use anymorethe 'OfficeMail' freeware, the e-mails sent by Data Monitor are not sent toany of theseaccounts. I can seethe e-mailsremain in the following folder: C:\Inetpub\mailroot\Queue From what I can observe the IIS SMTP Virtual Server is involved in this process. Has anyone configured the IIS SMTP Virtual Server? For example to send emails to the gmail server, yahoo server or hotmail server. I have configured Outlook Express and I am able to send/receive gmail, yahoo mails. I am using the same data for SMTP Virtual Server but no good results yet. What is the proper SMTP Virtual Server Configurations? 2. Using a VBS script to send email Following the sample code Send E-mail with VBS script. If I try with a remote server, the script is not executed completely. If I try to use a local server, the emails also remain in thefolder: C:\Inetpub\mailroot\Queue but they are not sent. Any suggestion on how to solve this? Using Windows XP is it possible to do this?
