Embedded Tuner for temperature in Technology-->PID Control-->PID Basic Functions-->TCONT_CP(S7-300/400/1500) in TIA Portal. And finally my favorite Technology-->PID Control-->PID Self tuner-->TUN_EC(S7-300/400/1500) in TIA Portal. PID Self tuner optional package for S7-300/400 for STEP 7. Embedded Tuner for temperature in FB58/FB59 as integral part of STEP 7. Tuner for PID Control function in SIMATIC PCS 7 avaialble via CFC editor. I have seen the embedded tuner that can be used and have used this embedded tuner before in classic step 7 v5.4, it didn't work as well as subsequent S7-1200 autotunes, the S7-1200 autotunes work quite nicely. Could you use the TUN_EC in conjuction with the TCONT_CP to get a better tune? I saw you mentioning it as a favourite so I thought I would ask. Thanks in advance Cheers Peter

Thanks in advance Cheers Peter Hello, I never suggest using TUN_EC coupled with TCONT_CP because TCONT_CP is optimized to control temperature loops. For some instruction regarding proper tuning for TCONT_CP, please search the forum.Also consider some points such as waiting to reach a steady state before tuning plus adequate jump in error signal.If you are interested in using TUN_EC ,Check it with CONT_C.
