I have a S7 1500 CPU 1515-2 PN, 6ES7 515-2AM00-0AB0 my PLC has the program downloaded already but I need to change it to  a 6ES7 515-2AM01-0AB0. How do I do that excatly, and ensure my blocks are transfered properly.

Hi,

To change the plc, you just need to right-click the cpu in Device View and selct Change Device and select the new cpu type.

Then the cpu will be changed, but everything in the cpu (program, etc) will stay the same.

If you change to a cpu that has completely different hardware, like differente number of ports or inputs/outputs that the program accesses, then it will impact the program in the cpu of course.

I tried that but the option "change device" is grayed out, any ideas?
