I have One simple Question,
Let me say I have S7-1214C And the max I/O Modules in my rack  are 8. my question goes like:
Does it really matter If I use  8X32 24V DC Or 4X8 24V DC,  I mean İs it possible to use 8 Modules with 32 Inputs /Outputs Each.  
What is the total Number of the Inputs I an use with modules.

 No it doesn't matter either you use 8 modules with 32 bit IO or 8 modules with 4 bit IO. By the way S7-1200 series have 32 bit IO card in only SM 1223 series with 16 DI and 16 DO available on 1 card so by this you can add 256 IOs with signal modules and CPU on board IOs on S7-1217 CPU is 28.So total no of IOs you can use in an S7-1200 system without distributed racks are 284.
