Simatic Logon License and WinCC v7.2

RobVG Posts: 17 Rating: (0)	Hi, I'm a bit unclear on license requirements for Simatic Logon when using with WinCC v7.2. I have a WinCC Server (acting as Simatic Logon server) and 2 WinCC Clients which all reside in a domain and use Simatic Logon for user authorisations in WinCC. I've read somwhere that the basic WinCC license includes the license for Simatic Logon is this true? Any advice would be appreciated.

One S7PCED v5.5 entry is there in master license. No valid license error popup is coming. It is with wincc 7.0. Any suggestion ?

Still it was giving error. So customer installed v1.5. Now in installed software list it is showing Simatic logon v1.5. But no master license is available. There is one more recently supplied PC where v1.5 is installed. In that Master license is present. There no error popup..

bg2492 Posts: 7298 Rating: (2188)	Hello vipz, was the v1.4 license defect ? If yes, you should have let repair it by the Authorization Hotline of Siemens. The V1.5 is not compatible with WinCC V7.0. In which way have you installed it ? The Master-license for Simatic Logon is only installed, if you install it with the frame-installation from the WinCC-DVD V7.2, because Simatic Logon is only free for using with WinCC. V1.5 logon is installed from wincc CD. Currently OEM is doing this , am not there @ site. But wincc 7.0sp3 is installed which is compatible with logon v1.5 as per compatible list.

bg2492 Posts: 7298 Rating: (2188)	Hello vipz, yes, Wincc 7.0 SP3 is compatible with Simatic Logon V1.5. The older SPs not. With Wincc 7.0 SP3 a Master License should be installed for Simatic Logon during setup. But I think you had have an older SP before, and have made an Upgrade-Installation instead a new installation ?
